Birthday flags are finished and I'm quite pleased with them. When the sun shines through them you get a blending of the pattern on the other side which is a lovely bonus. I just used a zig-zag stitch and trimmed up the edges. I also gave them a nice dose of spray starch so they are quite crisp and hang nicely. I had forgotten how satisfying ironing with starch is. Makes me wish for the luxury of a full size ironing board and a pile of vintage linens. Pop a film like Pride & Prejudice in the DVD, work out those wrinkles over a hot iron and you've got a wonderfully therapeutic after noon, in my opinion, could be someone else's nightmare I suppose.
